Welcoming address

Dear athletes,

I am delighted to be the patron of this year’s FVV XMAS Multisport Tournament and look forward to welcoming more than a thousand participants to this event in our cosmopolitan city of Frankfurt am Main.

This tournament offers all athletes – whether professionals or amateurs – the opportunity to prove their skills, test their sporting abilities and make new friends.

The tournament not only awakens sporting ambition, but also encourages interaction between the participants. I am convinced that tolerance and understanding for one another can grow through playing sport together. Sport has the unique ability to bring people together and break down barriers. And it also brings joy and fun.

As athletes, you are an important part of this movement towards an open and inclusive society. Together, you show that diversity is a strength in our society.

I wish all participants great competitions and a successful event! Take the wonderful pre-Christmas atmosphere home with you from Frankfurt!
